Mike was bred by Dr. Allen Dahl and originally owned by George Mayhew of Virginia.  Mike was sent to trainer John Kline for training and began his early career by winning the Eastern All Age Futurity.  He spent most of his young life with John and was purchased by Paul Pollock for his wife Lisa as his career was beginning to blossom.  The Pollock’s shared handling and scouting duties at first, but then Lisa became his sole pilot.

"Mike" competed on the All Age circuit, competing against many of the great Hall of Fame All Age dogs of his time.  He was a 6X CH and 9X Runner up American Field Champion with 25 One Hour wins.   While he himself was never shown, he produced 6 show Champions.  He is an American Brittany Club Register of Merit Award winner producing 2 DC's, 4 CH's, 1 FC, and 1 JH, to date. His Championship wins would make him a GFC and GAFC in today's competition. Mike competed and won from the East Coast to the Midwest including wins from South Dakota, Alabama, Georgia, Kansas, Illinois, Michigan, Virginia, and Pennsylvania.

Mike had 40 placements at AKC trials and an additional 4 wins at American Field sanctioned trials, which were Runner-Up Championships.  Two of his American Field Runner-Up Championships were in the prestigious Deep South Free-For-All.  The Deep South Free-For-All was an American Field Championship that was held in Alabama with a 45-minute qualifier, and a 1-hour call back.  From 2006-2010, Mike was ranked in the Top 20 Purina All Age Dog of the Year standings.  Mike was bred 8 times, with most of his offspring never given the opportunity to compete.
