Aug. 27, 2023 - Captain Garrett E. “Gary” Lockee August 18, 1922 – August 27, 2023 Captain Garrett E. “Gary” Lockee passed away early Sunday morning, August 27. He had just celebrated his birthday of 101 years. Gary was deeply devoted to his family, his country and his avocation of sporting dogs and competition. He was an ambassador for the bird dog museum and dedicated to maintaining the history of sporting dogs. See here for full details. Aug. 23, 2016- William Cartmell passed away with Rheta by his side Tuesday, August 23, 2016 after an extended illness. Bill was a driving force behind the establishment of our Brittany Field Trial Hall of Fame. Due to his efforts over a span of years, in 1996 the Brittany Field Trial Hall of Fame was recognized by the Bird Dog Foundation and Bill became the Chairman. Along with Rheta, he managed this Hall of Fame for many years before turning it's leadership over to Rick Smith. Bill richly deserved his induction in 2009 as a member.
